Worldbuilding is about a vast imagination of what is possible, but also a minute daily action.
It is about reconciling our visions of the future; our dreams and ideals, into actionable steps. It bridges reality and fantasy. The world I want to build is one where process and connection are valued over appearance and efficiency. I believe this is done through reshaping our vision of the ‘good life’: allowing people to access an alternative vision of what that could look like. This takes a holistic set of changes across politics, culture, economy and individual behaviour. Believing that one piece isn’t important keeps us in perpetuity, repeating the same patterns. My piece of the puzzle is about changing people’s mind’s about how their consumption of objects and relationship to the material world can be part of reshaping the world. It’s about their emotions, their needs, their priorities. Us humans need to feel it’s in our best interest to make changes. We need to use our culture industry to sell something slower, more purpose, community, and connection driven. I want to be part of creating that culture, through images, words and textures.
